Besides the established Festival of cultural events with music concerts and painting exhibitions every August, the Cultural Centre “Megaro Gyzi” organizes during the tourist season and further cultural events, such as painting exhibitions and art collections, concerts, recitals, music nights, lectures, theatrical performances, photo exhibitions and other events, which capture the attention and the interest of the local residents and the numerous tourists of the island.

Of special interest, in this year’s events, is the "4th International Piano Competition" for the Nomination of New Music Talents taking place between the 2nd and 9th of September 2008. The International Association of Art "The Muse" is the organizer of the competition, which is to be hosted at the "Megaro Gyzi" Concert Hall.

It needs to be pointed out that the theatrical group "Erasitehniki Skini Athinon", which was founded and managed for 70 years (1930-2000) by the unforgettable Santorinian artist Yannis Alexakis, gives theatrical performances in "Megaro Gyzi" almost every year around October 28th, presenting plays of the Greek and classical repertoire, with always enormous success and many spectators from the local residents of the island.
