The Cultural Centre MEGARO GYZI was founded in 1980 with the initiative and financial funding of the Catholic Diocese of Santorini. The Cultural Centre is housed in Megaro Gyzi in Fira, to a 17th century old family mansion of exceptional architectural interest and beauty, which survived the earthquake of 1956.

 

The Cultural Centre΄s operations and cultural activities are managed by the five members of the Board of Directors, who are the following:

The Cultural Centre mainly aims to promote Santorini through the upgrade of the spiritual and cultural life of the island to the local community and its numerous visitors.
